WELCOME TO THE ASSOCIATION OF COMPETITION ECONOMICS

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2026 ACE Best Paper Award is: “Asymmetric Information Sharing in Oligopoly: A Natural Experiment in Retail Gasoline”, by David Byrne, Nicolas de Roos, Matthew Lewis, Leslie Marx and Xiaosong Wu, published in the Journal of Political Economy. The paper was selected by the ACE Scientific Committee, composed of Albert Banal-Estañol, Alexandre de Cornière, Emilio Calvano and Germain Gaudin. Congratulations to the authors on this well-deserved recognition!

We are very much looking forward to welcoming the winning authors to ACE 2026 in Toulouse (12-13 November), where their award-winning paper will be presented as part of the conference programme. In the meantime, the Steering Committee is working hard on the rest of the programme. We are preparing another exciting edition of the conference, bringing together competition economists, practitioners and academics from across Europe and beyond. 
The full conference programme will be released and registrations will open in the 2nd half of September. Stay tuned for further announcements in the coming weeks!
